2 Reading Assignments

Here are 2 final reading assignments, due on Monday 29 Nov.
1. Read this essay: "That Is Beginning: a Look at Recent Works of Hejinian, Sabina, and Others," written by Dale Smith, for his former column in Book Slut (which you should certainly bookmark if you are interested in contemporary writing). Dale Smith, of course, is one of the poets you heard read here two weeks ago in the Poetry_Heat series. With Hoa Nguyen, Dale edits the print poetry journal, Skanky Possum, and the independent press by the same name.
2. Read this article: "Why Is Modern Poetry So Difficult?" by John Tranter, editor of Jacket Magazine, one of the best resources on poetry today.
